Mini KIKO Haul and about me...

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!!

This isn't a "polish only" post so if you're not interested ignore it.

Today I went shopping with my mom again! I love shopping with her because she always give me the best advice and we have similar taste.

My original goal was a polish from KIKO who is really similar to ZOYA Gaia that I really like.
Since I found out that I can't buy ZOYA polish from their official website and I was really disappointed, I'm happy that I found a really similar color.
It's a milky white with gold shimmer. It's originally intended for french manicure so it's really sheer but with three coats it gets opaque enough for me (still VNL tought).

I should have stopped at that but there was that "sparkle touch" polish that really called me. It's silver microglitter in a clear base. This will be perfect over some dark color.

I also went to Sephora and saw some pretty Pupa polishes: a gold one and a dark blue one, both glitters but in the end I was able to restrain myself.

I also took a look at Bijou Brigitte, a jewelry and accessories store.
I bought two bow shaped hairpins and a bow shaped hair tie that you can see below.

Then I went to H&M. I bought a black blouse with a gold and red embroidery and a periwinkle dress that is a really similar color to China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le just a little darker. They are both for summer so I will have to wait a little to be able to wear them. I can't wait!!

Also a little news about me. Tomorrow afternoon I have my driving test and if I pass it I will finally get my driving license!! I'm so nervous!! Wish me good luck!!

DARK LOVE

This is my last Valentine's Day tutorial, I promise!
This tutorial can be used for Valentine's Day but it's not so typical so you can wear it whenever you want.

What you need: a thin brush, some clear rhinestones.

Colors:

  • Base Coat: KIKO White strong&shiny No.05
  • Very Dark Brown: L'OREAL Resist&Shine No.502 RIBES NERO
  • Silver: basic No.449
  • Top Coat: KIKO No.03
How to:
  1. Apply your base coat.
  2. Apply a dark polish. I used a very dark burgundy/brown.
  3. With a thin brush draw two hearts on your ring finger and thumb. Don't fill them.
  4. Apply a clear rhinestone on all the other nails.

SWEET KISS

This tutorial is really easy, don't let it impress you. I never tought that I would be able to draw some lips, but they were incredibly easy to draw, give it a try!
I started drawing the lips and then I added the words. My sister pestered me saying that I should leave only the lips but to me it seemed to bare. If you prefer you can leave only the lips, maybe in two different colors.

What you need: a thin brush.

Colors:

  • Base Coat: KIKO White strong&shiny No.05
  • Nude: KIKO No.220
  • Red: RIMMEL LYCRA PRO No.323 RIVIERA RED
  • Black: DEBORAH Shine TECH No.30
  • Top Coat: KIKO No.03
How to:
  1. Apply your base coat.
  2. Apply a nude/beige polish.
  3. With a thin brush draw some lips. Start with an elongated "M" shape and then draw the bottom part. If you want add some words and hearts.

Swatch: COLLISTAR No. 44

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This is my favourite polish. It's a dark blue polish with lighter microglitter. It's gorgeous, there is nothing more to say.
I have compared it with Deborah 7 Days Long No. 765.

Swatch: Deborah 7 Days Long No. 765

(above camera flash - below natural light)

I can't put in words how much I love this color. Blue is my favourite color especially in polish.
I think this is my second favourite, the first is COLLISTAR No.44 that I will post later.
I also compared it to COLLISTAR to see the difference. Deborah is a little lighter and is shimmer while COLLISTAR is darker and with very fine glitter. I really love them both but COLLISTAR win because I like the contrast of the dark base with the lighter glitter.

LOVE ME

Yes, it's another Valentine's Day tutorial! Are you tired of them? It's just that I love to draw hearts and my sister got those cute little hearts for me and she wanted me to use them...
I promise that I will not make other Valentine's Day nail art! (I'm lying!!)

What you need: a thin brush, little red hearts.

Colors:

  • Base Coat: KIKO White strong&shiny No.05
  • Silver: DEBORAH Shine TECH No.22
  • Red: RIMMEL LYCRA PRO No.323 RIVIERA RED
  • Black: DEBORAH Shine TECH No.30
  • White: KIKO No.203
  • Top Coat: KIKO No.03
How to:
  1. Apply your base coat.
  2. Apply a silver polish.
  3. With a thin brush and some red polish draw an heart. Do the same on all the nails alterning red and black.
  4. With the same brush and white polish make a reflex on the red hearts, ONLY the red ones.
  5. On the black hearts write the word "LOVE" and add a small red heart.
Here is the final result.

Swatch: Franken 03

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This is my third franken and I think is the best I made until now.
I don't have the exact recipe but the colors I used are this: a light blue creme, a sheer green, some gold glitter and a few drops of white.

The polish in the bottle is very pretty and I really like it but on my nails it wasn't that great.
Also I applied Seche Vite as my top coat but it shrinked awfully. It was the first time this appened to me and I was a little disappointed.
So what do you think? Is it nice or a fail?

Swatch: MAYBELLINE FOREVER STRONG No. 535 "Runway Red"

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This is another color that I never tought I'd buy. I'm not a red lover, I already have a creme red and that's enough for me.
Strangely I bought it.
The formula is great and I like the color, probably I will not wear it alone but it can be a great base for some nail art.
I compared it (see below) with my other red creme RIMMEL Riviera Red and they are similar but not identical. Runway Red is a bit more orange than Riviera Red.

Swatch: LAYLA No. 101

(above camera flash - below natural light)

I usually don't like yellow polishes and I'm not even attracted to them but when I saw this I bought it without thinking twice.
Maybe it's fault of all of those pastel polish floating around lately but I'm really in love with this color. It's a little sheer but with three coats it gets opaque enough for me. The formula is like all the other LAYLA polishes: very liquid, it always gets on my cuticles but it's something I can overlook.

Swatch: LAYLA No. 50

(above camera flash - below natural light)

I really liked this color on the bottle but when I applied it I was a little disapponted.
I tought it was a creme but in reality it have a slight shimmer and it was extremely sheer, I lost count of the coats I made but they where at least 4.
Another thing I don't understand about this polish is the red "things" (see my ring finger and pinky) that are floating around. They are not enough to be part of the polish but I really don't understand where they came from.
Overall this polish was a let down but I really like the color so I will still wear it.

You're Such A Kabuki Queen Glitter French

I didn't know what to wear on my nails today so I let my mom choose and the winner was OPI You're Such A Kabuki Queen. I wanted to add something to it so I pick up this pink glitter with some green reflex and I applied it on the smile line. The pink glitter don't stand out because it's the same color of the polish but the green reflex really catch the eye, more than in the picture!
