Swatch: KIKO No. 298

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This color is very pretty. It's actually very sheer but it's perfect for layering.
Below you can see it above some black, blue and white.

KIKO 298 above a black creme, a blue shimmer and a white creme.

Mini KIKO Haul

Another mini haul, from KIKO this time. Since KIKO polishes are now €1.90 instead of €3.90 I'm taking advantage of this and buying all the colors that I wanted before, even if I have to say that at this point I bought almost everything that catched my eyes.
I have 32 KIKO polishes at the moment on a total of 105 shades available but a lot of color are extremely close to each others and there isn't a large variety of finishes (basically just cremes, shimmers and glitters).
Tomorrow afternoon I'm going to swatch these and the ones from yesterday if it's sunny. I also have some swatches of other KIKO polishes in my hard disk but I still have to edit the pics so you will see them in the next few days. I'm trying to swatch all of my KIKO polishes but they are a lot...

The following pics are from my lovely sister. She just recently started to love nail polish and stopped biting her nails.
This afternoon she put on ORLY Pixy Stix and proudly went shopping.
Then she asked me to konad her thumbs with CG Awaken and plate m3.

BANANA CANDY

At first I wanted to do a tutorial for this nail art but it's so easy that I don't think is needed.
I used LAYLA 101 for the base and added some dots using KIKO 290, 295 and 296.
I took inspiration from the "lemon nails" in the latest issue of Nail Up.

GRADIENT PINK FRENCH

Super easy and lovely!!

What you need: some red hearts for decoration.

Colors:

  • Base Coat: KIKO White strong&shiny No.05
  • Milky White: KIKO No.205
  • Pink: Unknown polish (no number, name or brand)
  • Top Coat: KIKO No.03
How to:
  1. Apply your base coat.
  2. Apply a milky white polish, better with some gold shimmer.
  3. Apply a light pink polish (better with gold shimmer) on the tip of your nails. Apply a second coat if needed. If you want you can add some docorations like red hearts.

PINK & ORANGE FRENCH {three versions}

Another recent NotD.
I wore this for my mother's birthday last week.
I never tought that orange and pink could match this well but when I tried this I really liked it.
I liked it so much that I made two versions of this mani and also a pedi.
I took inspiration from this nail art I saw in a mag (don't remember which, sorry!).

In the first two pic is the "basic" version. I used KIKO no.280 and Miss Sporty no.140 for the french and topped everything with KIKO no.228, a silver glitter.

Here is the "bling" version with some stars and hexagonal silver glitter.

Here the whole look. For the pedi I just alternated pink and orange.

What do you think? Want to see more matching mani and pedi?

GREEN SPRING

After seeing the green spring mani at LACQUERIZED I wanted to try it too!
This is my result!
I used KIKO no.296 as a base and then I applied a coat of KIKO no.163, a fine glitter with turquoise shimmer and at last KIKO no.170, with iridiscent fish scale glitter that flashes between green and purple.

Tiny blue haul

This is what I bought today: Deborah Shine Tech No.35 and Deborah Sense Tech No.03.
I had my eyes on no.35 for a long time. It's a beautiful dark blue creme and if it's like the other shine tech cremes it's extremely glossy!
I didn't like the first Sense Tech polish I bought but I wanted to try this because the color is really appealing, no.03 is a beautiful grayed dark blue.
Swatches coming soon!

To all italian girls:

nei supermercati Esselunga fino al 9 giugno gli smalti Deborah Shine Tech, Deborah 7 Days Long e Rimmel Lycra Pro hanno il 30% di sconto per i possessori carta fidaty. I Sense Tech NON sono in sconto.

Swatch: KIKO No. 280

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This is a pure orange creme (the first pic is a bit dark).
It applied well, like most of the KIKO polishes, and it was opaque in two coats.

Swatch: Wet 'n' Wild Rock Solid DREAM BLACK METALLIC

(above camera flash - below natural light)

This polish is really awesome! It's a black polsih with a very special shimmer that change based on the lighting. In some light is dark green (like above) and in some light is dark purple/eggplant (like the last picture). I absolutely love it and it looks very good on my nails. The bottle says that this polish is "infused with micro fine diamond flecks for rock solid strenght and platinum performance" so this is supposed to be a strengthening polish too.

Close-up.

Swatch: Astra No.122

(above camera flash - below natural light)

The second Astra polish I bought is gold glitter in a light orange base. It's obviously a polish for layering so below you can see it above same creme polishes.

Here some close-ups of this polish above white, orange and black creme polish.

Swatch: Astra No.120

(above camera flash - below natural light)

My first time trying an Astra polish. I like the quality, it was easy to apply. In the picture you can still see VNL after two coats but in reality I didn't noticed it.
The color in the bottle is a little plain but on the nails is really pretty. A nude/beige color with gold shimmer.

Swatch: Miss Sporty No.140

(above camera flash - below natural light)

I finally got the time to swatch the polishes from my last haul.
This polish is from the brand Miss Sporty. This brand is intended for young girls so it's very cheap but the quality of the polish is good. I really like this color, it's opaque in two coats and dries really glossy.

Scans | Nail Up! May 2010 (pic spam)

In the latest issue of Nail Up! I found a lot of nail art that I liked and wanted to show you!

In the first two pictures Kyoko Fukada wears 60's / 70's inspired nails.

In this article they show us nail art inspired by strawberries, kiwis and lemons. Super cute! I want to try some of this on my own nails.

In this pictures there are some nail art inspired by kimonos. I absolutely love this kind of nail art by they are so detailed that it's almost impossible for me to do it on my nails.

These last pictures show some nail art inspired by popular songs. These are just the two that I liked more but there were a lot more (Mickael Jackson, Louis Armstrong, Beyonce, Sweetbox, JUJU...) so if you are interested check out the whole issue.
Both this nail art are not what I usually like but for some reason they really appealed to me. The first one is extremely detailed (click the pic to see it big) I love the butterfly on her pinky.

I usually don't like animal prints but this manicure is really nice and fierce. I love the color combination!
